Starting this blog has increased my desire to be creative in fitness; however, I would say I am a novice. I wish I was naturally creative, but sadly that skill isn’t an easy one for me.
BUT that doesn’t stop me from trying because I can fail, but eventually I may create a gem.
One day while working out the song “Cherry Bomb” by The Runaways came on. I started thinking how this song would be great for a song challenge. Yes, it’s like “Sally” or “Roxanne” song challenges, but don’t we always need a new song with a little variance?!
Since I am no longer listen to past self who would have NEVER posted this video because of the following:
- I had the hip thrust down, maybe a little too well.
- My burpees aren’t fluid and I mess up once or five times, AWKWARD
- My shirt is riding up, EEEK.
Now my insecure thoughts are out there and so is this video, and I don’t care.
I want to share my imperfection, my issues, but my triumphant moments.
Don’t let your fears be the boss in your life. Sure, people may laugh at my videos or blog posts, but I am out here trying and no longer afraid.
What’s my secret? I finally put all my faith and fears in Jesus. I started focusing on finding my strength, self-confidence through the fact that I am a miracle made by God; a blessing to this world if only I put God first and follow His purpose for me.
” God is Love. Whoever lives in Love lives in God, and God in him.”1 John 4:7 ( NIV)
“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”1 John 4:18 (NIV)
I no longer allow fear in my life or allow self-inflicting punishment onto myself. You have to stop allowing fear or insecurites ruin your life. You may have struggles, fails or people going against you, but you will always have the love of God and that’s all that matters. Plus you may shock yourself that the fact you stayed determined and faithful, resulted in miracles or blessings that WILL occur.
Okay, after a little motivational speech lets get to the Cherry Bomb Challenge of squats, squat pulses and burpees.
Warning: the song does have a loud cuss word in it. I couldn’t find the radio edition.
You will complete squats during the verses.
The chorus part of ch-ch-ch is squat pulses, stay low!
When they sing Cherry Bomb, drop for a half-burpee. Add a jump or don’t, your call and your workout!
Please, PLEASE (yes, I am begging) comment, like or share. Also like my Facebook page-That Shy Gal!
Love all of y’all.
